uDraw
Although the Wii drawing tablet is technically an accessory it is currently bundled with the uDraw game for all ages. Painting and drawing is simple with nine different media options and you can use the toolbox to scroll through colors, canvases and brushes. Your imagination and creativity are the only limiting factors when it comes to this game. You may not create the next Picasso on the Wii drawing tablet but you can have a lot of fun and create unique images, which can then be saved to SD cards and shared. There is even a replay option that will show you how masterpieces are created, stroke by stroke.
Functionality
The tablet itself draws power and functionality from the Wii remote, which docks inside the device. A 4x6 screen is coupled with an attached stylus. Since the tablet gets its power from the remote you will have much less to worry about when it comes to batteries. When the tablet is not in use it is not draining yet another set of batteries! Using the remote adds functionality and precision to the tablet as it can pick up even the slightest motion or flick of the wrist.
Age Appropriate
What ages will get the most use and fun out of the Wii drawing tablet? The game is marketed to people of all ages; however it seems that the 6-12 year old range is the most popular. Children or adults who are seeking advanced artistic expression; this is not the gadget to use. Extremely talented artists may be a bit frustrated by the limitations of the device and game. Everyone else, however, seems to love the idea and options.
Other Games
Do you and your friends like to get together for a rousing game of Pictionary? Give them an entirely new experience by introducing the Wii drawing tablet. Instead of using pencil and paper simply pick up the tablet and watch your drawings come to life on your television screen. This is really great fun for those with big screen sets.
Dood's big adventure is another game you will be able to play with the Wii drawing tablet. The game graphics themselves are not that impressive, but the ability to draw in trampolines, fight bad guys and color in your surroundings makes for a cute game that many are sure to love. There are a variety of levels, some, which require drawing, and others that take advantage of the tilt function of your controller to roll Dood through the levels.
Conclusion
Is this Nintendo's next big thing? Probably not, however it is a useful device that will likely introduce a whole new generation to the Wii gaming platform. The original game, uDraw will appeal to younger children and some adults. It is a simple concept and what some thought Mario Paint could have been!
