uDraw Studio and Wii Drawing Tablet

In 2010 THQ released the uDraw Studio game and uDraw Wii drawing tablet. Created to introduce a new generation to the gaming console these games are simple to play and do not require a video gaming background to understand. If you have been looking for something even the younger children can play on your Nintendo Wii system, there are several options available.
Dood's Big Adventure
Probably the best game for younger children is Dood's big adventure. In this side scrolling game kids can color their character, enemies and even the background. Customizing the game can become a game in and of itself depending on the creativity of the individual playing.
In addition to coloring options there are also several game modes:
  • Bubble Trouble- Dood is contained within a bubble, which you must guide through the level without touching the sides and avoiding sharp objects.
  • Roly-Poly- young children love to use the tilt feature to roll Dood through levels in his hamster ball!
  • Fan Frenzy- Dood has been blown up like a balloon and it is your job to use the stylus and control a fan to maneuver him through the levels. The harder you push on the screen the faster the fan turns.
Pictionary
Do you like to play Pictionary but are not so found of cleaning up afterwards? Try it with the Wii drawing tablet instead! Using the pad and stylus you can draw to your heart's content without leaving a mess for the hostess to clean up! It also only takes a couple of minutes to set up, as opposed to dragging out the board game and all accessories and then searching high and low for enough pencils.
Pictionary with the Wii drawing tablet offers several options you will not find with the traditional game including simpler clues for children and specific instructions that can increase the difficulty, such as drawing with your less dominant hand! Hours of fun await you with this all-time favorite family game.
uDraw Studio
If you are less into "games" per se and simply want an artistic outlet, the uDraw Studio could be the best option.  With the Wii drawing tablet you can paint, color or sketch using 9 media options. There are a variety of brushes, colors and canvases to choose from, which will make creating your masterpiece easy as pie. You can also save your creations on SD to share with others or enjoy later.
Conclusion
The Wii drawing tablet is opening up an entirely new aspect to gaming. At this point there are only a handful of games compatible with the device; however the titles are growing a little at a time. Just this year saw the release of Kung Fu Panda 2 and SpongeBob Squiggle pants, both used with the Wii drawing tablet. There are sure to be more titles in the future as the platform develops.
